Westworld Season 4: Start Date

It is still unclear when the fourth season of "Westworld" will start. Especially since the series does not follow a uniform release rhythm. The first season was released in February 2017. About a year later, in April 2018, the second season was released. Fans then had to wait almost two years for the third season until the starting gun was fired on March 30, 2020.

Showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy have already announced that they should be prepared for a break of 18 to 20 months. Such a period of time is necessary for a series of the caliber of "Westworld". The shooting for the new season should begin shortly, according to Fansided. This means that "Westworld" could start in spring 2022.

Westworld Season 4: Cast

The cast of "Westworld" is always a tough question as there is no official information about the cast of the series. Anthony Hopkins' character died at the end of the first season, but the actor returned in season 2 in flashbacks. With the option to return as a host, the actors always have a back door open to return.

Dolores Abernathy, the role of Evan Rachel Wood died shockingly in the finale of the third season and it was once again made clear by the authorities that "this" Dolores Abernathy was dead! Still, Evan Rachel Wood may return in season four. More cast members likely to return:

  • Thandiwe Newton as Maeve Millay
  • Jeffrey Wright as Bernard Lowe
  • Tessa Thompson as Charlotte Hale
  • It Harris as William / The Man in Black
  • Luke Hemsworth as Ashley Stubbs
  • Simon Quarterman as Lee Sizemore
  • Rodrigo Santoro as Hector Escaton
  • Aaron Paul as Caleb Nichols

Thandie Newton will be spelled Thandiwe Newton in the future. The reason for this is simple: it is the correct spelling of your name. Her name was misspelled in the credits to her first film role and that misspelling was retained.

Now Newton ensures that that changes: "That is my name. That has always been my name. I will get back what is mine."

Westworld Season 4: Plot

The role of William appears twice in "Westworld". Young William is played by Jimmi Simpson, while older William, also known as the Man in Black, is played by Oscar-nominated character actor Ed Harris. The role went through a lot over the course of the first three seasons, going from human to host who killed him.

It seems like we're going to see quite a bit of Ed Harris and the Man in Black in Season 4 though. As a nasty antagonist, the character delivers a lot of potential!

Jonathan Nolan had already scattered some clues when he talked about the third season. So it should come in season 4 to the great climax between the hosts and the people.

I think it's a radical shift. What is so compelling and engaging about these characters is that they are not human. We mention it in the series, people are tied to the same cycles as the hosts, even more narrow-minded in some areas.

Westworld showrunner Jonathan Nolan

Natural selection, who is superior to whom? "One cannot expect human characters of our plot to be preserved and survive. The hosts have a different type of mortality, different prospects." So you can look forward to the new episodes.
