Set notification options in Skype for Business

Skype for Business shows pop-up notifications in various situations - e.g. For example, when someone adds you to their contact list or someone starts a conversation. With the Skype for Business pageOptions > Notifications you can decide when, where and from whom you want to see these notifications.

Would you like to be notified when someone adds you to their contact list?

  1. Choose Notifications.

  2. Choose under General notifications check box Notify me when other users add me to their contact list. Then specify in the fields "Display" and "Position" on which screen and where these notifications should be displayed.

If you select this setting and someone else adds them as a contact, in addition to showing a notification by default, Skype for Business will add that person to an ongoing list of people you might be yours own Want to add a contact list. You can go through this list from time to time by clicking the tab in Contacts view New in the Skype for Business main window. Go through the list of potential contacts, decide who to add to your own contact list, and then assign private relationships to the new contacts if you want.

You can also set up notification options for contacts who are not using Skype for Business

Skype for Business supports Skype users as contacts (if the Skype user is signed in with their Microsoft account) if your company has configured the use of external contacts. You can obtain details from the technical support at your workplace.
