Does Siri work with the Apple Watch

watchOS 6: How to activate Siri on the Apple Watch - without "Hey Siri"

requirement

Activating the voice assistant without having to say “Hey Siri” is quite practical. However, the feature does not work on every Apple Watch. It can only be used from Series 3 and newer. WatchOS 5 or later should also be installed.

This is how you can use Siri without code words

With the Apple Watch Series 3, Apple introduced voice output on the wrist for the first time. Previously, only the execution of the action or a text response was possible. Since watchOS 5, the next step has been taken and the voice assistant can be activated without having to press a button or an activation word.

However, the function can only be activated / deactivated separately. To do this, press the Digital Crown on the Apple Watch and select the Settings app on the home screen. Then scroll down and select the entry "Siri". Drag the slider next to Lift to Speak to the right to activate it. From now on, all you have to do is raise your arm and say your command. Note, however, that the feature works very mixed and you have to hold the Apple Watch very close to your mouth.

We therefore recommend that you continue to say “Hey Siri” so that the voice command is better recognized. You can of course deactivate the feature at any time in the same way.
