  1. Before the basmati rice is cooked, it should be washed so that it does not stick so strongly afterwards. To do this, put the rice in a saucepan with water and let it steep for a good 20 minutes. Then pour the rice through a sieve and rinse the rice again with cold water.
  2. Now put the basmati rice again in a saucepan and fill it up with 1.5 times the amount of water - the rice-water ratio for basmati rice is always 1: 1.5.
  3. Let the pot with the rice soak for about 10 minutes and then bring the pot to the boil. As soon as the water boils, reduce the heat, put the lid on the saucepan and let the rice soak for about 15-20 minutes - until the water has evaporated.
  4. If you like, the cooked basmati rice can be refined with a piece of butter.
